(for both surgeries)

Out of hours

The surgery will be closed between 6.30 pm and 8.00 am Monday to Friday and all day on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

In the event of an emergency or if you need urgent advice, please telephone the Out of Hours Service on 111 (calls will be charged at a local rate) .

Your call will be answered by a call handler who will ask you for some details (eg, your name, address and telephone number) and why you need to see a doctor. You may be put through to a nurse straight away or one will call you back. If the nurse thinks you need to see a doctor straight away, they will speak to you about what happens next. In most cases, someone from the out of hours service will speak to you or you will be asked to attend a Primary Care Centre. In Swansea, the Primary Care Centre is based in Singleton Hospital.

Access to the Primary Care Centre is via NHS Direct Wales and you should tell them first if you require a doctor out of hours. If you have a medical condition which prevents you from going to the Primary Care Centre, a doctor may decide that a house visit is necessary.
